When
the neighborhood surrounding Portland Place was originally
constructed in the 1800’s, horses were the primary means
of transportation.
The people who called the area home were many of the city’s
elite - the pioneers who helped shape Phoenix during its
infancy. From its rise as an affluent “streetcar suburb”
to its designation as the first historic district in Phoenix
and its current status as the hub of the arts movement, the
Roosevelt Neighboorhood has always been close to the pulse
of Phoenix.
Today, it’s no different. Immerse yourself in all our community
has to offer and become a part of Phoenix’s ever growing
and always exciting downtown, where history meets cutting
edge.
